The well-being of Israel matters.
Why?
Whether you personally believe the BIble or not, we know that this world and had to have been created. From what?
The BIble instructs us that God created it.
Do we have to believe it? Of course not.
But we do know, without any doubt, that we all will die someday.
Is that the end? The Bible tells us that each one of us has a soul and we will spend an eternity in one of two places-Heaven or Hell.
These aren't imaginary places, but places of permanency. It's up to each one of us individually, by choice of which road we will decide to take.
Is it a matter of being good enough? No, the Bible instructs us that being able to go to Heaven is not a matter of being good enough, so that no one can brag about getting there, but rather it is a matter of accepting Jesus Christ as the son of God who died for all of our sins. (Ephesians 2:9) (John 3:16) (Romans 3)
So for those that have chosen as informed in the Bible to choose Christ, is that it? Do we just accept Jesus as the son and leave it at that? For salvation, yes. However, do we just say a prayer and believe knowing we now have eternity sealed up?
I don't believe so. If you personally call yourself a Christian/believer of Jesus Christ, and have no action that follows your statement of being a Christian the Bible informs us that our statement of faith is questionable. Essentially, if we say we believe in God and what he says in the Bible, do our actions indicate what we believe? (James 2:14-26) Put in another similar scenario, if we say we love someone, have we taken any actions to back up that statement?
I am an attorney, not a Bible expert. But if you read the BIble and call yourself a Christian we know these statements to be true. If in question, the BIble informs us on these things.
We also know that from reading the Bible, God promises Abraham (the father of the country of Israel) and his descendants the land of Israel forever. (Genesis 12 -17). See also at: http://peoplegetready.org/bible-studies/gods-promise-abraham-seed/
So how does this affect America and the rest of the world?
From reading the rest of the Bible, it is absolutely clear that those against Israel and those attempting to take the land from Israel have suffered either immediately or at some later date. In fact it's in the BIble that those that bless Israel will be blessed and those that curse Israel will be cursed. (Genesis 12:1-3)
So the question that I ask you as the reader: Will you bless Israel or curse it? While most Americans or Christians throughout the world really think of giving someone a "blessing" or a "cursing", we know generally what it is to feel like we have been "blessed" and at times we will hear people say "am I cursed?" when things go bad.
My point is that we have the option, choice, and opportunity to help or hurt Israel. A great amount of the media on television and radio and the internet have spoke out against Israel when it has attempted to defend itself. The improper reporting against Israel should cause great concern for people of the world and residents of America. (Zechariah 2)
If you agree, what should you do?
Often times, while it is very vital to our every day life, prayer is given as just a general statement of help. While that is and sometimes the only action that can be taken in a given situation, I believe that we can and must do more.
One, is that most people are born with a mouth and the ability to speak. We can use it to advocate and just in general speak about the situation. To your family, to your friends, to your sphere of influence.
Second, most people are born with a hand, and today a large percentage are able to read and write. The written word is very powerful. Numbers of people that feel the same way and let another know they feel that way is very powerful. Whether or not you are able to vote, you can write your local congressman or woman and the President of the United States. If you do not live in the United States you can write a letter in many situations to your leaders of your country and inform them about how you support Israel and your country should as well.
Third, while most of us in America and the rest of the world cannot physically give a hand to those in Israel or help fight for Israel, we can provide financial assistance. Even if every Christian in America provided only one dollar in America towards supporting Israel, it would do what? Bless Israel. Our country, your country, whever you are, would be blessing Israel. Does that matter? Absolultely!
So the choice is yours: what will you do?

I will end with this thought. Each of us is given an opportunity to affect something somewhere. We don't see it often, but we do it on a daily basis and do not realize it. Sometimes big and sometimes small. We affect the people we come into contact with.
"For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?" (Esther 4:14 - NIV translation)
